Chief Austin Honored

After thirty-plus years serving as Firefighter, Assistant Chief, Board Member, and Chief, Austin plans to retire in 2020.

In an event attended by firefighters from throughout Siskiyou County, politicians, community members, the Austin family and many long-time friends, Chief Benny Austin was honored in an event hosted by Scott and Tammy Frick of Oliveras Catering and Larry and Peggy Alexander at the REC in Fort Jones. on November 15, 2019. The Austin family provided music, memoribilia and big screen photos spanning Chief Austin's forty-year career in the fire service.
